·       The first thing to do is come into school and talk to the class teacher.
·       It is more than likely the class teacher has noticed something and is confident that
quality first teaching will solve any barriers to learning.quality first teaching will solve any barriers to learning.
·       But even so you the concerns will be logged so you and the class teacher can keep
in close contact to discuss progress.
·       After a focus and close tracking we hope progress will be made.

What if a close focus and carefully tracking does not see progress?

·       Your child will be put onto the   Special Educational Needs Register SEN as needing
     school support.
·       You will notified and a dialogue will take place, a provision map will be  put in place
which shows the support your child will receive which you will also receive.
·       If progress is still not being made we would want to ask for some advice out of
     school.
·       This will only be done after a discussion with you and then you will have an
opportunity to discuss the findings with the advisory also in most cases you will
     receive a written report.
·       This advice will give us guidance of how to help your child break down their barrier
     to learning.
·       It may be that it also gives your child advice and support on how to manage their
     barrier to learning.
·       A termly review of the provision map and progress takes place as well as a dialogue
     between staff.
·       You again will be given a copy and invited into school to meet with the class teacher
as well as the Special Educational needs Co-ordinator (SENCo)

What if there are further issues?

If there were further more challenging issues an Education, Health and Care Plan may be applied for.  This will be done in partnership with you and your child.
