As a school we are part of the Telford and Wrekin school sport partnership.  This enables us to access additional PE support from The Phoenix academy.  Through this we are also invited to take part in a variety of sport festivals and competitions.  During this academic year we have so far been involved in
·         Sports hall athletics
·         Arthog outreach for KS1
·         Arthog outreach for KS2
·         Netball competition
·         Multi skills for KS1
Through this partnership we liaise with a School Games Organiser who arranges out of school activities and also provides additional support in school.
This term our year 5 children took part in a training to develop leadership skills.

What is the Sainsbury's School Games Mark?
The Sainsbury's School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.

Inspiring all young people
The School Games can help our students:

  • Become more determined and demonstrate resilience
  • Understand and demonstrate the importance of respect for officials, peers and the rules of the game
  • Learn to develop self-control and manage emotions
  • Experience being part of a team and understand their contribution to it
  • Win with pride and lose with grace
  • Learn the importance of practice and preparation
  • Learn how to set realistic goals and work towards achieving them
  • Aspire to improve and challenge themselves; working towards their personal best
  • Have fun and enjoy themselves!

In addition to the inter-class Netball, this year we will be doing new inter-class competitions.
