SMSC Curriculum Overview

Teaching and Learning

SMSC is taught across the curriculum. Pupils are provided with a range of activities and learning experiences where they are encouraged to recognise the spiritual dimension of their learning, reflect on the significance of what they are learning and recognise challenges that there may be to their own attitude and lifestyle. Through their planning teachers strive to inspire, challenge and engage children so that they become both resilient and thoughtful learners. Where possible, examples are drawn from a wide range of cultural contexts. Opportunities are given to listen and talk to each other, take turns and share equipment, agree and disagree and work collaboratively and cooperatively.Below is an overview showing how SMSC pervades our curriculum
